Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I need a copy of a rule, but am unsure of the exact RCW or WAC, how do I obtain a copy of it?
A. If you are a WSIADA member, you may call WSIADA. WSIADA will fax or mail you a copy of the RCW or WAC that you are interested in. If you are not a member, you may contact the governing agency of the rule you are looking for.
Q. I am having a conflict with my Dealer Investigator and am not comfortable contacting his/her supervisor. Can WSIADA help?
A. Yes. Although the Department of Licensing encourages dealers to call if they have problems with staff, it is common for WSIADA to work with the Department of Licensing on behalf of our members to assist in finding a resolution.
Q. Why am I not receiving WSIADA's newsletter, The Front Row?
A. WSIADA sends a newsletter to every member of WSIADA. In addition we mail a newsletter to every independent dealer on the Department of Licensing's mailing list. Therefore members should be receiving two copies. If you are a member, you need to contact the association office to be sure we have your correct mailing address.
Q. How much education do I need?
A. 5 hours per year. If you choose to use WSIADA's education program you can accumulate your hours throughout the year or you may complete all five hours at once. The only reason WSIADA created the program we have, is to simplify the education process for the dealer. It is very flexible.
Q. Can one of my employees take the education for me?
A. WSIADA allows a dealer principals staff to take the education on their behalf. However the staff person must be in a management position AND WSIADA needs a letter from the dealer principal assigning the responsibility to that particular staff person.
Q. If I choose to accumulate my hours throughout the year, may I submit my hours to WSIADA as I complete them?
A. Yes. If you are participating in WSIADA's education program we will track your hours for you until you need a certificate. HOWEVER, we do not automatically print a certificate once you have completed the five hours. YOU MUST contact WSIADA to request a certificate when your dealer's license is being renewed.
Q. Do I need to submit a copy of the Certificate of Completion?
A. No, not if you are participating in WSIADA's education program. Once WSIADA is notified by you that you are renewing your license and WSIADA verifies that all five hours have been completed, we notify DOL electronically that you have completed the education. The Certificate of Completion WSIADA sends you is for your records.
