WSIADA 2009 QUALITY DEALER OF THE YEAR
KEN WILLIAMSON
JOHN’S AUTO MART
KENNEWICK

Every year WSIADA asks its members to nominate who they think deserve the title of Quality Dealer of the Year. At the recent WSIADA convention, the WSIADA Quality Dealer of the Year was awarded to Ken Williamson, owner of John’s Auto Mart, located in Kennewick, Washington.

In the hisotry of this award this is the first time the association has ever received a nomintation that not only was nominated three years in a row, however, the nomination form was signed by almost all of his fellow dealers in his community.

John’s Auto Mart opened in 1959 under the leadership of John Williamson who operated the dealership with his son, Ken, who purchased the business from John in 1988. From the beginning the Williamsons showed a unique interest in providing the kind and quality of automobiles that were needed in the Tri-City market. They offered a full range of vehicles from budget to luxury with emphasis on quality and customer service regardless of the age of car or price paid.

A customer states, “I am very grateful for the way you affirmed my mother when she purchased a car from you. We were starting to notice her slide into senile dementia and the Alzheimer’s disease that ultimately took her life. Her wandering mind and incessant, repetitious questions were quite frustrating to the family but your remarkable patience with her and consultation with me on her behalf preserved her human dignity.”
Another customer writes “Thank you for helping my brothers family during a very critical time when help was needed. We know you went out of your normal business procedure to help and really appreciate all that you did. Business owners like you are one of the reasons that our community is special.”

Another customer writes “Thank you for your help and professionalism. I don’t know what I would have done without your expertise and compassion.”
Receiving an award from the Kennewick Beautification Committee for landscaping several years ago, the physical dealership is an example of what a car lot should look like, while setting a good example for other dealers to follow.

In addition to operating his dealership, Ken had served as President of WSIADA for three years, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Tri-Cities Bridge to Bridge Committee, the Historic Downtown Committee, as a member of the Levy and Beautification Committee and the local Chamber of Commerce.

Congratulations Ken!
