The Department of Licensing reported an error that was not allowing dealers to process titles for their dealerships while the status "On Hold" was in place. DOL is aware of this issue and is working with Vehicle and Vessel Department correct the issue.

Get/Renew your Reseller Permit

Remember, if you do wholesale deals, including sales to auctions, then you need a Reseller Permit and you need to renew it every four years. Reseller Permits are easy to forget about, and WSIADA is working with DOR and DOL officials to make notices more apparent.

DRIVES system interruption begins August 29th

Department of Licensing

The Dealer and Vehicle System (DRIVES) project is preparing for its rollout 2 which will occur on September 4th. This requires that all Department of Licensing systems will be offline to the public starting August 26th to upgrade the system. All dealers are recommended to have paper copies to run your dealership from the 29th through to September 4th.

On Wednesday, five years and about a month since the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) put auto finance sources on notice for policies that allow dealers to mark up interest rates in exchange for service rendered, the U.S. Senate voted 51-47 to approve legislation aimed at repealing the guidance containing the regulator’s warning.
