Walker Motor Works is the dream of my granddaughter and her husband who wanted to use his 12 years of car dealership experience and build a business that would provide for them and those that they could employ, provide a positive impact on their community and help sustain the ministry that my wife and I had started 20 years ago. It has been an exciting adventure this last 4 years, being exposed to the used car business for the first time. Although my personal experience has not involved cars, it has involved supervising and management at many different levels and I have learned how important it is to work together and learn from one another for the individual and corporate good of everyone. That includes ensuring that we obey the legal responsibilities to our community by understanding and complying with the regulations that we have been given. This also includes participating in the governmental process that is responsible for making those decisions.
Walker Motor Work Mission Statement:
We are a family business that honestly cares about our staff, associates, customers and our community. Our goal is to provide each customer with a respectful and caring staff that will make every effort to ensure they leave Walker Motor Works with the vehicle that will meet their need at a fair price. Our success is dependent on the satisfaction of those we serve. We promise an honest transaction but our goal is to have a lasting relationship based on mutual respect and genuine concern.
WSIADA has available the experience of used car dealers and other businesses that depend on the industry from small to large and provides the unity necessary to identify issues and concerns that will ultimately determine how successful each dealership is in meeting their goals. That first requires that we develop trusting and mutual relationships between the WSIADA staff, those serving on the board and every dealership, small or large. The chapter meetings will provide a more inter-active opportunity to develop relationships and more accurately ensure that we are getting everyone’s input, using each one’s experience and vision to help set our priorities and strategies. Those relationship include those in the different government agencies that directly affect the success of our owners and the employees in the WSIADA family. Our goal is to see WSIADA become the true representative of the corporate body of all dealers in Washington and of all the related providers that depend on the success of the industry.
